Thought Provoking

You who govern public affairs, what need have you to employ punishments? Love virtue, and the people will be virtuous.  The virtues of a superior man are like the wind; the virtues of a common man are like the grass; the grass, when the wind passes over it, bends.

Was this Thoreau or Homer? I believe it was Thoreau.

Community discipline is the devil.

There is fate and destiny
There is inheritance and doom
I try to bleed my burdens
and fail behind the pen
I close my eyes
Time closes her eyes
A tear sneaks through
as my lips purse
I sing softly serenading
myself pretending
the world joins in and sway with me
As we sing together
For the sake of togetherness
Because we are not alone
                                          We are all one
Dancing in the clouds together
                                           We are free
Living in fantasy and fiction and fulfillment
                                           (Yet)We are grounded
by our own ROLES AND LABELS AND
STEREOTYPES AND INTOLERANCE
Time awakens
                                       She opens her eyes
I open my eyes
                                      To count the lines
in the mirror and carry a load
                                       far too heavy
for these wings.

A Microhenry of My Intentions

I have a few projects in mind. Things I want/must do to settle my soul. 1. Walk around KY, possibly nation wide, to prove that I can do anything you can, epileptic or not. I'll plan a course of travel that will circle the state, and I will depend on nothing but my fellow man to provide me with the food and shelter that I will need, to express the value of love and interdependence, through true humanity - and I will encounter challenges that will be hard to overcome. Not only for me, having epilepsy, but for anyone. It is so hard to step outside the comfort zone of routine and complacency. God's work is never done, and I intend to share that with each person I encounter. 2. Express my discontent with that which is not righteous, daily. 3. Start a study group. Although the main focus will be truth, centering around the Bible/word of God, other concepts may arise. 4. Dwell in the Holy Spirit, and continue to pray when it is most difficult. 5. Travel across the nation/world in a non-conventional way of living, centered around the principles that Jesus stood by. The acceptance of this "we" mentality in society has molded us into self-seeking groups that worship the values of worldly things, and approval from fellow man. Works in progress. Story of our lives. :) Namaste. Be blessed.
